BW Offshore has finally secured a long-term deal for its floating production vessel Sendje Berge after months of wrangling.
The company has agreed an interim extension to the FPSO’s deal with Sinopec affiliate Addax that will see the production unit remain off the Nigerian coast for a further six years.
The ship, which can process 50,000 barrels a day, has been under contract to Addax since its inauguration in 2005, but delays to confirming the long-term future of the FPSO meant a series of short term extension deals were penned last year.
Now the ship’s role for Addax is guaranteed until at least 2018, with options to stay in place until 2020.
“The agreement secures operational continuity while awaiting final contract approval by Nigerian authorities,” BW Offshore said in a statement.
