Global safety technology firm Dräger has doubled the size of its Aberdeen premises following a multi-million pound investment.
The company staged an open day for its customers, including Talisman, CNR, Total and NOF, which featured a guided tour around the new facilities and the unveiling of a new confined space entry training rig, showcasing the firm’s latest product developments for the North Sea oil and gas sector.
“It really is good to be among the first to see these excellent facilities,” said Bryan Campbell of Talisman, who attended on the day.
“We’ve been working with Dräger for a number of years now and I’m impressed with the professionalism and approach to offering invaluable, tailored safety solutions to the business.
“The newly expanded site will continue to play a very important role in supporting us to conduct our work offshore and I look forward to further building my relationship with all of the team.”
The newly expanded centre at Tern Place in Bridge of Don includes a larger breathing apparatus and gas detection maintenance area, introduction of a third flexible lecture suite and the addition of an IT suite to facilitate e-learning courses.
“With sales and service subsidiaries in over 40 countries including the UK, Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and now Aberdeen, we are perfectly positioned to service our oil and gas customers from the heart of the industry, surrounding the North Sea,” said Fiona Revie, centre manager at Dräger’s Aberdeen office.
“The team and I are extremely proud of what we have already achieved here. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers in Aberdeen and beyond with safety products and training that protect both the plant itself and the personnel within those operations.”
