Offshore energy services group SeaEnergy is to focus on its successful 3D visualisation system after announcing plans for a restructure.
The Return 2 Scene system, which generates 3D representations of offshore platforms and crime scenes, was snapped up by the Aberdeen-based firm last year.
The firm, which saw full-year losses for 2013 fall to £0.8million, said the move would allow it to focus on optimising the R2S division after seeing significant growth from its operations last year.
R2S business development director Bob Donnelly will become SeaEnergy’s director of business development, while its technical director Graham Buchan has been named director of research and development.
The move will see R2S focus exclusively on photo capture for the oil and gas sector, with its digital and forensic experts moving to SeaEnergy’s consulting division.
“SeaEnergy has made great strides in delivering its strategy of bringing innovation-led services and technology to the offshore energy sector,” said chief executive John Aldersey-Williams.
“Our recently-announced year end results showed rapid revenue growth and a dramatic improvement in the bottom line.
“This reorganisation positions the group for further strong revenue growth: it focuses R2S on its core service of asset capture, centralises key functions and will enable the capture of synergies and added-value opportunities across the group.”
