3sun Group has secured a contact with Siemens after successfully delivering £15million of work.
The two-year extension includes the installation of offshore wind turbines in the UK.
Andrew Elmes, renewables director of 3sun Group, said: “We are currently supporting Siemens through the installation of Gwynt y Mor project, one of the largest wind farms in construction in the world and due to be completed this year, and DONG Energy’s West of Duddon Sands which will be complete in 2015.”
In the past five years, 3sun Group and Siemens have worked together on an array renewable feats including the London Array, currently the world’s largest wind farm.
Upcoming work includes the installation of 35 Siemens 6MW turbines in the North Sea on Westermost Rough project. The move would be the first time these turbines are used on a commercial scale anywhere in the world.
