The UK government has assembled all the right tools to implement the Wood Review’s recommendations, believes Oil & Gas UK economics director and the report’s co-creator.
Michael Tholen, who sat on the Wood Review: Progress Report panel during the first Oil & Gas UK conference devoted to UKCS economic recovery, praised the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for its work towards meeting the report’s recommendations.
But he also agreed the industry would like to see change happen at an accelerated rate – and warned the government body that a lack of progress communication could lead to the negative assumption that nothing is being done.
