Renewable Energy Group’s (REG) plans to build a six-turbine wind farm in Cumbria have been approved by the local council.
The 12MW project for Hallburn is expected to enter construction phase next year, as the company awaits a formal planning permission from Carlisle County Council, due shortly.
“Hallburn benefits from an excellent wind speed and a 12MW project will be an extremely productive addition to our portfolio of operating assets,” said Andrew Whalley, REG chief executive.
“Achieving a resolution to grant consent at local authority level is testament to the skill and persistence of our development team.”
