Norwegian oil and gas operator DNO has declared a force majeure on two of its blocks in Yemen.
The company has temporarily suspended production from block 32 Howarime and block 43 South Howarime, due to industrial action started on June 22.
Output from the two prospects averaged 3,400 barrels of oil per day (bopd) on an aggregate gross basis before the suspension.
Operations from these blocks have been limited since late last year due to blockades by local groups restricting access, DNO said.
The company had previously invoked a force majeure for block 47 South Hood in September 2013.
A DNO spokesman stated that the company is committed to resuming operations in Yemen where it has been active since 1998 and is engaged with the government and the unions to resolve the outstanding issues.
