Kazakhstan-focused explorer Max Petroleum has connected a new pipeline from its Makat oil terminal to the national network.
The link allows for direct deliveries of oil from Max’s Zhana Makat, Borkyldakty, Sagiz West and East Kyzylzhar fields to the Kazakh national pipeline network, enabling direct delivery of both domestic and export oil sales.
The total oil deliveries expected down the new route amounts to approximately 3,400 barrels of oil per day resulting in an annualised transport cost saving of approximately $4.9million once the ramp-up is complete, the company said in a statement.
The volume of oil being transported via the pipeline is expected to increase further as production is increased from Sagiz West and East Kyzylzhar I once continuous trial production starts from these fields, expected in 2015, Max added.
