Rolls Wood Group (RWG) has secured £2million contract with Maersk Oil to maintain its fleet of Rolls-Royce Avon gas generators in the Danish North Sea.
The firm, a joint venture between Aberdeen’s Wood Group and engine-maker Rolls-Royce, said the four year general service contract includes field services, borescope inspection, accessory repair and major overhaul of the gas generators.
The Rolls-Royce Avon packages operated by Maersk Oil are configured for gas compression which is vital to the efficient production and distribution of hydrocarbons from the Tyra field in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
Mark Forsyth, Industrial & Marine Business Director of RWG said: “Offshore operators demand high reliability and minimum downtime of essential production assets.
“With this new agreement RWG will make regular inspections of this critical equipment and carry out product improvements recommended by the OEM”.
