Oil and gas pump specialist PSIL has made a senior appointment as it targets Middle East expansion.
The UK-headquartered company, which develops specialist pump engineering for the energy and chemicals sectors, has its sights set on expanding across Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE.
Mechanical engineer and former draughtsman Darren Cowley has been appointed as sales director and will help fuel the firm’s growth strategy.
PSIL managing director, Mark Hodgkins, said: “British engineering design and manufacturing is a highly sought-after commodity for oil and gas operators and refineries in the Middle East – we are experiencing continuously rising demand across the region.
“Securing new agency agreements in the key markets of Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE is crucial to our ability to distribute our custom-designed pumps to national oil companies, operators and refinery owners. Our network has widened significantly in the last decade and that growth shows absolutely no sign of slowing.
“Bringing Darren on board is a major boost for the business, he has huge experience of the region and understands exactly what our clients requirements are – his work alongside our technical director Miles Dilkes means we are able to deliver a more efficient service to our customers from initial request to product delivery.”
PSIL’s horizontal, vertical, molten sulphur and vortex-flo pumps are currently used by oil majors including Qatar Petroleum, TCO, Taymel, BP, Shell, Brown & Root and READ.
