Maritime Assurance & Consulting (MAC) has increased its turnover by nearly 20%.
The Aberdeen-based firm recorded £3.42million in turnover for the past year compared to the previous period’s £2.89million mark.
A strategic drive to focus on maritime assurance and consulting can be credited for the growth, according the firm.
The company, which was established in 2011, also expanded its international reach in the past 12 months, completing its first marine warranty project in Singapore and West Africa.
Managing director Graeme Reid confirmed the firm now plans to target the US, specifically the Gulf of Mexico region, and has appointed its first US-based employee.
He said: “We are a young company but benefit from an enormously experienced team, which is what the business has been built upon. We have enjoyed significant year on year growth since MAC was born three years ago and our aim is to continue that trend by evolving the strategy which has served us well to date.
“An important aspect of the next stage in the company’s development is embracing the opportunities worldwide. We are already active in the industry’s key regions but recognise the scope to enhance our presence.
“Our commitment to the US market has been underlined by the addition of Chad Fuhrmann to the team, as business director for the Americas, and we have also demonstrated our ability to take our knowledge and expertise into other territories. It is an exciting time for everyone associated with MAC.”
The firm now aims to build on its steady growth and has already secured £2million worth of sales for the 2014/2015 fiscal year. Its client list includes a range of major industry players including BP, Technip and Premier Oil.
Graeme Reid added: “As an Aberdeen-based organisation there is a natural affinity with the North Sea. Whilst we are targeting opportunities further afield, we continue to go from strength to strength in the UK and are looking forward to another positive year on all fronts.”
