The health of offshore workers will be under the spotlight at seminar in Aberdeen next week.
Run by Oil and Gas UK, the convention will address issues like nutrition, food hygiene, and water safety. It is hoped the talk will create a bigger picture of of occupational health in the industry which can be a challenging matter in the sector.
Tom Milne, health and safety manager at Oil & Gas UK, said: “From speaking to our members we know that health is a key issue and following the launch of a health category in our annual safety awards earlier this year, this is the next step to put health at the forefront of our agenda.”
The health and safety awards were held in April this year and recognised the efforts of several companies working to improve the occupational health of their employees.
The talk at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre will take place on Tuesday, October 7 where speakers will include Professor Diana Kloss, chairwoman of the Council for Work and Health, and Dr Beau Dees of medical and travel security services company International SOS.
