CKD Galbraith has unveiled two consented renewable energy projects to help tackle subsidy deadlines.
The property consultancy will act as the sole selling agent for two wind turbines at a green filed site at Dalry, north Ayrshire and the Maich Hydropower Scheme at Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire.
The firm believes the project will enable potential purchasers to ‘lock in’ the benefits of green energy subsidies and avoid being caught by government ‘degression’ limits on allowances such as the Feed-in Tariff (FiT).
Michael Fletcher, at CKD Galbraith, said: “The renewable energy industry, along with landowners and others, is incentivised to ensure the UK meets its green energy targets. However in December 2012 the UK Government was obliged to implement degression, a lessening year on year, for FiT to limit the effects on public finances.
“This has put pressure on investors and developers to pre-accredit sites as soon as they have obtained planning consent and paid for their grid connection in order to maximise the financial returns of their projects. Owing to our renewable energy experience and detailed knowledge of markets across Scotland, the two properties are among several such marketed by the firm this year.”
The wind project is to the northeast of Auchenskeith Farm and approximately 26 miles south west of Glasgow and the Maich Water to the west of Glasgow.
