Oil and gas students have one final chance today to enter into an industry wide competition and meet Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing and more than 150 senior representative from across the industry.
In the run up to skills week Opito has been engaging with people across the industry by giving them the chance to submit a photo with the caption #Iamoilandgas when posting a photo on Facebook or Twitter.
The aim of the competition is to showcase the wide variety of jobs those involved with the industry do on a daily basis.
Skills week will run from November 11th to the 14th with events across the UK, and it will launch with the chance for one person to win a ticket to the business breakfast at the AECC and meet the Energy Minister.
Skills development director Morven Spalding said: “A career in oil and gas means a lot more than working offshore in a heavy boiler suit.
“94% of careers in the industry are based onshore and include everything from project managers, chemists and chefs to lawyers, accountants, HR professionals and more.
“We have had some fantastic responses from people working and studying in all sorts of different sectors within oil and gas, but we still want to hear from more people.
“This competition will give someone the golden opportunity to further their career by securing an opportunity to meet influential industry figures and network with potential future employers.”

Each individual who tweets or posts a photograph of themselves illustrating their career or career path into the industry using the hashtags #Iamoilandgas #SkillsWeek, will be entered into the prize draw.
Entrants must be aged 18 and over. The winning entry will be picked at random after November 1st.
