Africa-focused oil and gas exploration company Tower Resources expects one of its wells to spud early next year despite “complications”.
In its update of drilling activity on Block-2B in Kenya,Tower said project operator Taipan had recently attended the high court in Nairbori seeking a variation to the conservatory order served on the Badad-1 well operations in Block 2B .
Alongside the granting of this variation the court also ruled that any related petitions against the co-respondents should be consolidated and heard as a single petition at the next hearing on December 10.
Block-2B partners, however, are confident the claims will be rejected by the court.
Work on the well has in the meantime restarted and is progressing to a spud date in January 2015.
Block-2B is shared by Tower (15%), Premier Oil (55%) and Taipan (30%).
