CNOOC has started production from gas fields in the South China Sea.
The company said its Panyu 34-1/35-1/35-2 project, which is located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, was producing 21 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
The project consists of the three gas fields with a water depth in the range of between 195-338 meters.
The main production facilities include one comprehensive platform, two sets of underwater production systems and 13 producing wells.
CNOOC said the project is expected to reach its ODP designed peak production of approximately 150 million cubic feet per day in 2015.
The company owns a 100% stake in the project.
Last month CNOOC made a discovery in the Eastern South China Sea.
The discovery well Lufeng 14-4-4 was drilled and completed at a depth of 4,098 meters and encountered oil pay zones with a production level tested at 1,320 barrels per day.
