Norwegian Energy Company ASA (Noreco) said production at the Huntington field has been granted temporary approval to resume.
Earlier this week the company said production would be further delayed.
Work had been due to resume at the beginning of the month.
A spokesman said until normal access to the CATS system had been restored, daily production would not exceed 1500 boepd.
He said: “The CATS operator has not given any firm date for restart of normal operation of the CATS Systems, but indications are that it could be delayed to the end of January, possibly even longer.
“It is difficult at this stage to guide on the exact cash flow implications for Noreco.
“It should be expected that the reduced production in the beginning of 2015 will be partly compensated by flush production when the field is back to normal.”
Last month, Premier Oil said production from the field had been due to resume.
The field has a long history of production problems since its start-up.
It was previously shutdown in May while repair works were carried out on the floating production and storage unit which serves the project. It was then closed from July 31 until August 26.
The North Sea field is about 200km east of Aberdeen.
