A Peterhead-based gas turbine servicing company has opened a new facility in Houston, Texas.
Score Energy will use its new workshop for inspecting, repairing and upgrading fuel systems on gas turbines and other engine types, including the Siemens TB5000 and the Rolls Royce Avon.
The firm, which is a subsidiary of Score Group, was founded in 1982 and describes itself as the world’s number one aero-derivative gas turbine support company.
It employs more than 120 people across its operations in the UK, Dubai, China, Venezuela, Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia and, as of last month, Texas.
The opening of the Houston workshop has created work for eight people, a spokeswoman for the company said.
Score Energy’s head of sales and customer support, Calum Melhuish, added: “We currently work with international clients, offering them our whole range of services from our global facilities.
“This new state-of-the-art property means we are able to provide the same level of service we do in Scotland a little closer to home for some of our biggest customers.”
