Zenith Energy said it has completed well operations on the Europa Oil & Gas Kiln Lane well in North-east Lincolnshire.
The PEDL 181 licence was the first full project management contract for Zenith Energy.
It was spudded in February this year and reached a total depth of 2,291 metres last month.
The well has since been plugged and abandoned after Europa announced the wireline logging and subsequent petrophysical analysis indicated that the sandstones encountered were water wet.
The well has therefore been plugged and abandoned and the site shall be restored to agricultural use.
Operations director at Zenith Energy, Chris Collie, said: “The completion of the Kiln Lane project marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Zenith as it is our first project managed well which is a huge achievement for the business in just under two and half years since it was first established.
“We successfully completed the project in an efficient, safe and timely manner which is testament to our experienced engineers and our continued focus on quality planning and performance for our clients.
“This contract puts us in a strong position for future growth and further projects.”
Europa chief executive, Hugh Mackay, said: ‘Kiln Lane was the first well to be drilled on this large licence and I wish to thank the whole Zenith team who delivered excellent performance and brought the well to spud on schedule against a tight timeframe.”
