Hundreds of workers have been evacuated from three oil sands projects in Alberta as wildfires affect the region.
Statoil, MEG Energy and Cenovus Energy made the move as fires coarsed through the area.
Projects have also been shutdown by Cenovus and Canadian Natural Resources, though none have been affected by the fires.
Around 23,000 barrels oer day of oil sands production have been halted due to the fire risk.
There are currently around 70 forest fires are now burning in the area.
Statoil evecauted around 110 non-essential personnel from its Leismer project as a precaution.
Production has been unaffected and around 75 exployees remain on site.
Cenovus evacuated all 90 staff from its Narrows Lake oil sands project earlier this week and also shut down its Birch Mountain natural gas plant.
Husky Energy said its operations in the Cold Lake region have not been affected, although it has suspended operations at its Muskwa natural-gas processing plant and its Overlea compressor facilties.
