Wood Group has agreed a six year deal with state-owned Saudi Aramco to establish an offshore engineering centre of excellence in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
The agreement, which is expected to create 300 jobs, also includes support for greenfield and brownfield engineering services, procurement, and construction management support for new facilities in the Arabian Gulf.
Wood Group Mustang will be tasked with carrying out the work.
Wood Group Mustang chief executive, Michele McNichol, said: “We look forward to helping Saudi Aramco to implement its offshore production strategies and to developing the Al Khobar centre of excellence. The centre will help to establish offshore engineering capabilities in Saudi Arabia by transferring Wood Group Mustang’s record-setting experience, strong technical and project management resources, and flexible, innovative approach.”
Saudi Aramco maintains the world’s largest spare crude oil production capacity and has daily crude production is 9.54 million barrels per day (bpd).
