Technip has struck a deal with Jurong Shipyard to convert a shuttle tanker into a floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The FPSO, which will be built in Singapore, will later be deployed to the ultra-deepwater Libra Field offshore Brazil. The FPSO, which will work to depths of 2,500 meters, will have a capacity of 50,000 barrels of oil per day and 4 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
KK Lim, president of Technip in Asia Pacific, said: “We are pleased to engineer the topsides of this FPSO that would be used for work on the Libra field in the ultra-deepwater section of Brazil’s Santos Basin. It demonstrates the trust of our client in Technip’s technical strength and extensive knowledge in this kind of floating platform, having delivered some of the largest FPSO units in the world.”
Project completion is expected in late 2016.
