Completions and technology provider Qedi has opened its first office in Abu Dhabi.
The company, owned by Amec Foster Wheeler, has appointed Naveen Adusumilli as general manager for the Middle East. Adusumilli’s remit is to support business growth in the Middle East and to expand the company’s operations throughout the region.
The new office will bring Amec Foster Wheeler and Qedi’s North Sea hook-up and commissioning offering to new international markets including Korea, Azerbaijan and Singapore.
Qedi managing director Barry Can, said: “We have identified new opportunities and engaged with customers in the conventional oil and gas, petrochemical and infrastructure industry and, having already helped to build our presence in the Caspian region, I’m delighted to have Naveen building up our Middle East network.”
Founded in Aberdeen in 1987, Qedi was bought by Amec in a £33 million deal in 2011. It employs more than 350 people providing project delivery services to international oil companies in the UK, Gulf of Mexico, Middle East, the Caspian and Australia.
