An increasing focus on gas production has led Sound Oil to change its registered name to Sound Energy.
The Mediterranean-focused company is expected to produce its first gas from the Nervesa field in Italy later this year.
The board of directors decided Sound Energy was more reflective of the company’s broadened asset base. The effective date of the change is set to be October 1.
Last month Sound
received the go-ahead to begin production from the onshore Casa Tonetto production concession from the Italian government.
