E.ON has completed a wildcat well near the Skarv field and confirmed it is a dry hole.
It drilled the well 6507/3-11 S, 12km east of the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea.
Drilled by the Borgland Dolphin, the duster is the first exploration well in production licence 650. E.ON said the well will be permanently plugged and abandoned.
Borgland Dolphin will now proceed to production licence 248 in the North Sea to drill wildcat well 35/11-18 where Wintershall Norge AS is the operator.
