An oil worker has been airlifted to hospital from a North Sea platform following an incident offshore.
A helicopter from Shetland Coastguard evacuated the man from the Ninian Central Platform, which is operated by CNR International.
The Ninian Central platform is located approximately 240 miles north-east of Aberdeen
The man was treated at the Gilbert Bain hospital on Shetland and later released. The cause of the incident is currently unknown.
CNR International has confirmed they are carrying out inquiries into what happened.
A spokeswoman for the operator said: “CNR International advises that a worker, taken to hospital as a precaution following an incident on the Ninian Central platform on Saturday, was discharged this morning [Monday].
“The worker was working in an area adjacent to a designated turbine vent and reported feeling unwell.
“As a precautionary measure, he was taken to hospital.
“An investigation is ongoing and the relevant authorities have been informed.”
A spokesperson for HSE said: “We are making inquiries to establish if any incident is reportable to us.”
