UK independent Nighthawk Energy is looking extend its drilling programme in the US with two new wells due to spud by the end of November.
The US-focused company, which has also issued a production update, was producing 1,600 barrels per day through to mid-October, down from 1,700 bpd produced in the quarter ended in September – in line with the normal decline curve of the wells.
Chief operating officer Chuck Wilson, said: “We are cautiously optimistic about the potential of these two new targets. After these two wells, the company will lay down the rig until spring 2016.”
Wilson said he expected to reach total depth at the Happy Jack location within the next 16 days and the North Star by the end of November 2015.”
The total costs of each well, including completion and surface equipment, are anticipated to be $1.5 million.
