Shell appoints new director as part of upstream reshuffle

Shell has appointed Maarten Wetselaar integrated gas director as part of a wider upstream reorganisation.

The oil giant will address shareholders today about plans to make integrated gas a stand-alone organisation – “a move that reflects both its enlarged scale and investment potential”.

Wetselaar will take up the post January 1st.

Shell’s integrated gas business has grown by $9billion in the last six years.

Shell will announce a “new, simpler upstream organisation” in line with the company’s portfolio reshuffle to shareholders later today.
