A north-east fabrication firm offering manufacturing services to the oil and gas industry has gone into administration.
Harlen Fabrication in Dyce has appeared to suffer the effects of the downturn in the oil and gas industry.
Calls were made to directors of the company were not returned.
Administrators for Harlen Fabrication, owned by managing director Bruce Gill, were appointed in late October.
The company, established in 1980, last year expanded its operations to Dundee.
In April, the firm said the it had completed a £multi-million job making 32 giant ballast weights at the new facility for an un-named energy sector client.
It said it had contributed a share in a £1million upgrade of the workshop on Dundee’s Princess Alexandria Wharf where it said it had created 30 jobs.
The steel fabrication specialist, which had invested heavily in expanding its facilities at Dyce, had previously worked for major firms including Apache, Technip and Baker Hughes.
Mr Gill, a former director at Global Energy Group, had joined at the end of 2011 as managing director and acquired the business a year later.
At it’s peak in 2013 it employed 70 people.
