Tidal power developer Atlantis Resources has appointed Stephen Ward as its new director of power generation as the company begins the constructions phase of the MeyGen project in the Pentland Firth.
Ward joins the executive management team following the relocation of Atlantis’ corporate headquarters to Edinburgh from Singapore and will play a key role in the construction phase of the Meygen development of tidal power turbines.
He was previously head of project management Areva Wind prior to moving into offshore operations at Adwen offshore where he has been responsible for the project management, installation and logistics elements of various European tender submissions.
Chief executive Tim Cornelius, said: “I am delighted to welcome Stephen to the Atlantis team. His operational experience, insight and knowledge of the renewable energy and power generation sectors gained over many years will be a huge asset at a truly exciting juncture in Atlantis’ development.”
