Natural gas consumption in Ukraine is expected to drop by around 32 million cubic metre this year compared with 2015, according to new figures.
It comes after gas consumption dropped by 21% last year due to an economic slowdown and a suspension of gas supplies to separatist-held territory in the eastern part of the country.
Meanwhile, household consumption fell by 22.6% in 2015.
Naftogaz chief executive Andriy Kobolev said:”We are revising our gas balance for this year because there is a decrease in consumption of households.”
Kobolev added gas reserves would allow the company to inject less gas into underground storage this year.
