German gas and engineering company Linde Group has expanded into Houston’s energy corridor.
The company will move into the new Linde Plaza from its previous office space in the Westchase area of the city.
A spokeswoman for Linde said despite the oil price decline in the past 18 months, growth in downstream activity had been good for business.
It is understood around 150 employees will move to the new office including workers from Houston as well as Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
Steve Bertone, chief executive of Linde Engineering North America, said: “We wanted to be in the Energy Corridor because it is an important economic and global hub in Houston.
“The facility not only provides us the right resources for our talented workforce, but will also enable us to work closely with our customers, partners and policy makers.”
