British film actress campaigner Emma Thompson’s fracking-free bake-off was interrupted yesterday – by an angry farmer spreading manure.
The owner of the contested land, which is leased to shale company Cuadrilla, arrived mid-bake and sprayed slurry around the tent Thompson was occupying.
An injunction has been in place since 2014 which prevents protesters from entering the site.
The Greenpeace demonstrators had taken over the site in order to film a ‘baking-themed’ protest against plans to frack gas at the land in Lancashire.
