Bankers Petroleum said its production had been temporarily impacted at an oil terminal in Albania due to a leak.
The incident is reported to have happened when the terminal operator was loading a third-party vessel last month.
The company said the oil leak had been cleaned-up but operations at the terminal have been suspended while authorities conduct an investigation into incident.
In a statement, Bankers Petroleum said the suspension of the export terminal had led to a shortage of available crude storage at the port facility as well as within the Patos-Marinza oilfield.
It is expected the firm will curtail its production as a result which is expected to lead to a full field shutdown in the next couple of days without the ability to export crude oil at the port.
The suspension is expected to last a few days before the company resumes operations as usual.
