Ineos boss Jim Ratcliffe is said to be trying to axe tea breaks for 1200 workers at Grangemouth.
According to the Daily Record, the chemical giant is trying to put a stop to a daily 10am tea break at the petrochemical plant.
It’s understood the tea breaks would lead to “high levels of unproductive time” in the mornings.
Ineos has since denied the claims. Read more here.
But the chemical giant has said the tea break has simply been moved to later in the day and staff will be reimbursed with an extra 30 minutes pay per day as compensation.
The Daily Record went on to say an internal document it had seen had suggested the move would be a three-month pilot programme.
The move comes just weeks after Ineos revealed its first shipment of shale from the US to its Grangemouth facility.
