A helicopter had to turn back just minutes after leaving Aberdeen this morning following an emergency.
Engine problems forced the Babcock S92 helicopter to return to the city soon after leaving the airport.
Emergency services including the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted.
The helicopter landed safely following the alert.
An Aberdeen International Airport spokesman said: “A full emergency was declared at 8.48am.
“The helicopter departed the airport but due to problems with the engine it landed again at 8.52am.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland were made aware of a concern for an aircraft coming in to land at Aberdeen International Airport today.
“The aircraft landed safely.”
