Scotland won the prize of best international pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) 2016.
The oil and gas industry gathering, which started on Monday and ended yesterday, attracted a large number of Scottish firms.
There were 60 on the pavilion and 80 in all joining Scottish Development International (SDI), the international arm of Scotland’s enterprise agencies, in trying to maximise business growth opportunities in the Middle East.
SDI oil and gas international sector head David Rennie said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have won the best international pavilion (award).
“Our success is testament to the world-class, innovative and ambitious oil and gas sector we have in Scotland.
“Together, we are working hard to respond to the current global downturn which will see us come out even stronger and more resilient than ever before.
“I’d like to congratulate all of the companies joining us on our Scotland pavilion this year.
“We’ve seen a constant buzz around the stand, with lots of new connections being made, and I look forward to seeing the results of all our efforts.”
