Venezuelan state oil firm PDVSA has asked a US judge to grant it victim status in a bribery case against two businessmen, a news report said.
The company wants receive compensation from Roberto Rincon and Abraham Shiera, both of whom are from Venezuela and reside in the US, Reuters reported.
PDVSA said a fraud scheme Mr Rincon and Mr Shiera had been involved in had cost the firm $600million, according to the report.
Both men have pleaded guilty to charges under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and are slated for sentencing in June, Reuters reported.
They are understood to have bribed PDVSA officials to secure contracts, the report said.
