Amec Foster Wheeler today confirmed it would help Heathrow Airport Limited in its bid to secure a third runway.
The engineering service firm has been appointed as an Integrated Design Team partner and will provide a suite of services to support Heathrow in its application for a Development Consent Order to expand the airport. This will include technical advice and support for environmental, design, engineering and consenting consultancy over the next three years.
Jonathan Lewis, Amec Foster Wheeler’s chief executive, said:“Heathrow and Amec Foster Wheeler are the perfect partners. Our global environmental expertise, permitting experience, and track record in major infrastructure development will be invaluable in helping Heathrow to expand and become the world’s most environmentally responsible hub airport.
“We’re delighted to have worked with Heathrow for over 20 years, and look forward to building on that strategic relationship as the project develops.”
Heathrow is the latest infrastructure win for Amec. It also supports the HS2 and Thames Tideway Tunnels.
