A Dutch trade unionist said workers would reduce diesel production at Shell’s Pernis oil refinery in the Netherlands today as part of a pay dispute, according to a news report.
Output from the CCR2 hydrocracker is expected to be lowered by 20% today, FNV union spokesman Egbert Schellenberg said, Reuters reported.
It is thought that Shell only wants to give the workers a raise of 1%, but employees are holding out for 1.5%.
Mr Schellenberg said talks between both sides would resume on Monday.
A Shell spokeswoman confirmed part of the refinery’s production would be impacted as of Friday, but that the company would be able to meet its delivery obligations for the time being, the report said.
