Within an enchanted, snowflake dappled venue, the Press and Journal’s 8th annual Energy Snow Ball showcased once again just why it’s the industry night of the year.
As Jack Frost and fairy-tale ice maidens welcomed guests into the historic setting of Marischal Colleges magical glass marquee in the quadrangle, they were treated to a wonderful dreamlike night of food, drinks, music and dancing.
Former Spandau Ballet frontman, Tony Hadley, had guests in rapture with a real nostalgia-soaked performance while other musical guests – the 14-piece band Club Live – wowed the audience with their superb vocal and musical range.
Long-time sponsor of the event, Jim Milne of Balmoral Group, said: “It’s a pleasure to be part of something like this and to be together again with the rest of the energy community.”
Enjoying the sense of history, Lindsey Fettes, partner at sponsor Wilsone & Duffus, said: “It’s great to have this opportunity to engage with people in the energy industry. The Marischal College building is very special to me as my father came here to study when he was a young man.”
Many guests in attendance were feeling a renewed confidence in the energy sector, which only added to the special venue and the splendour of the evening.
Jim Cook of Survitec Group, said: “It’s great to be with the people in the energy sector tonight to show a bit of solidarity now the green shoots of recovery are starting to show.”
While Wendy Atkinson from Mattioli Woods, added: “We’ve had a good year and things are improving so itt’s great to be able to bring clients to this type of thing in such a beautiful setting.”
The night was hosted by Press and Journal editor Richard Neville who, alongside Mark Abbey of CHC Helicopters, presented one luck audience member with a one-in-lifetime helicopter ride.
