A top boss at US oil giant Chevron has swapped winter in northern Europe for normally sunny California following a change of role.
Richard Hinkley, who was general manager of Chevron’s upstream Europe business, is now a general manager in Chevron’s asset development business and based in the city of Bakersfield in the San Joaquin Valley (SJV).
He has spent most of his career working on international exploration and development projects, having joined Chevron in 1996 as a geophysicist based in London.
His replacement in Europe is Kevin Ricketts, who has joined Chevron’s upsteam operations on this side of the Atlantic after previously working for the company in SJV.
Mr Ricketts started his career with Chevron in New Orleans in 1982 after graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in chemical engineering.
Meanwhile, other recent moves affecting senior people in north and north-east business circles include Donna Harper leaving Johnston Carmichael’s Elgin office.
She was a partner and director for the accountancy firm in its Moray operation, having joined the business in 1994 as a trainee.
Ms Harper has advised businesses ranging from sole traders, partnership and limited companies on accounting, business advisory and taxation matters.
A spokeswoman for Aberdeen-based Johnston Carmichael said she had left to “pursue other business interests with her husband”.
