Fascinating video footage of the launch of an artificial reef off the coast of Australia has been published.
The new pinnacles reef, installed using the “float, tow and sink” technique, is expected provide high quality recreational fishing opportunities.
It is located in Merimbula Bay off New South Wales.
Tom Baxter, senior lecturer at Aberdeen University, said: “Shallow water placement and use by recreational fisherman/divers is not really an option for the UKCS, but it does demonstrate that man made structures in the sea can be a real positive.”
