International law firm Addleshaw Goddard said it had beefed up its Aberdeen energy team by appointing David McEwing as a partner.
Mr McEwing, who joins the firm from Pinsent Masons, boasts more than 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, advising oil and gas companies and oilfield services businesses, as well as leading complex international corporate transactions and major upstream investments.
These include acting for Zennor Petroleum on its acquisition of First Oil and its UK North Sea assets, advising Simmons Private Equity in its UK and Far East investments, and acting for major oilfield service companies.
Addleshaw Goddard said he would play a key role in developing its offering to the oil and gas sector, with a strong focus on international and cross-border transactions, and building on his strong links to Norway, West Africa and
the Middle East, while using the firm’s international offices to support activity.
Mr McEwing joined Pinsent Mason’s Aberdeen energy team in 2010 and was also a course convener at Aberdeen University for 25 years.
