A leading Aberdeen occupational health provider has announced the retirement of its founder after almost three decades at the helm.
Dr Hugh Hepburn will retire from Aberdeen Medical Services at the end of April, and will hand over the reins of the business, based in the west end, to son and fellow director Mark Hepburn.
Aberdeen Medical Services is a family-owned and run, independent occupational health practice which specialises in the oil and gas industry, diving medicine and OGUK medicals. Other areas of focus include medical and health, administration, quality assurance, psychiatry, mental health, substance misuse, counselling, diet, nutrition and lifestyle advice.
Dr Hepburn graduated from Aberdeen Medical School in 1974 and worked in a range of settings including A&E in Aberdeen, Falkirk, Perth and Gibraltar.
He also practised as a GP in Forfar before setting up Aberdeen Medical Services in 1990 with colleague Iain MacAskill and son Mark.
Commenting on his forthcoming retirement, Dr Hepburn said: “The success of Aberdeen Medical Services to date is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team, and I am grateful to each and every one of them for what they have helped me to achieve.”
Mark Hepburn added: “I look forward to using our expertise to continue to deliver products and services in line with the needs of our diverse client base.”
