Our people have all faced challenges over the past year, with many juggling “home-schooling” and other personal responsibilities with work demands. We’ve all become more aware and understanding of each other’s circumstances as a result.
The effects of the pandemic on people’s health are likely to be felt for years to come. Recent reports suggest as many as 10 million people in the UK will need some form of mental health support as a direct result of the prolonged periods of isolation they’ve experienced.
That’s why we’re partnering with Mental Health UK, to support people directly affected by mental health issues. We’re funding a project which gives people in rural communities the skills, access and support they need. The partnership also enables our own staff to learn more about their mental health and how to support each other.
Removing the stigma around mental health and supporting key services which people can reach out to is also an important part of Covid recovery plans and assuring employee wellbeing.
