North-east company Ashtead Technology announced the appointment of a commercial director yesterday.
The Westhill-based firm, which rents specialist subsea equipment to the offshore oil and gas sector, said Tim Sheehan was joining it in the newly created role after two years as executive commercial vice-president at Reef Subsea.
He previously held senior management positions with Technip, Bibby, Acergy and Rotech.
The appointment is part of Ashtead’s plans to grow its global service offering.
Chief executive Allan Pirie said: “We experienced strong growth throughout 2012 and anticipate a busy period ahead.
“Tim is hugely experienced and will bring the knowledge and drive that will keep Ashtead Technology at the forefront of our sector.”
The company, which recently sold its North American instrumentation business to US firm Pine Environmental Services, has offices in Westhill, London, Houston and Singapore.
It also has agents in Norway, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
