Patrick Allman-Ward is to take the reigns of leading Middle East energy company Dana Gas from September after being announced as their new chief executive.
Allman-Ward, who joined the company last year after 30 years with Shell, has been serving as Dana’s general manager for Egypt.
The company, which recently announced a $1billion refinancing programme, had been hunting a new chief executive following the retirement last year of previous chief executive Ahmed Al-Arbeed.
“After a detailed search and interview process of many candidates, we are confident we have found the right person,” said Dana Gas chairman Adel Al-Sabeeh.
“Patrick Allman-Ward brings deep industry experience, invaluable knowledge of our business and a proven record running the Dana Gas team in Egypt and developing strong relationships with government authorities. Patrick will be focused on driving our next phase of growth in Egypt, the UAE and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as we prepare to expand into new areas throughout the Middle East-North Africa region.”
English-born Allman-Ward joined Shell in 1982 and served in a number of senior roles, including vide president of exploration for Asia-Pacific.
