Jubilant Energy has appointed Rakesh Jain as its newchief executive following an Extraordinary General Meeting.
Jain, a mechanical engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology joined the company in August from his post as a chief operating officer at HDFC Education & Development Services.
He holds more that 20 years in the oil and gas industry, having previously worked in various managerial positions at Tata, Hindustan Oil Exploration Company and Suntera Energy Services.
Jain will initially hold the post until August 11 2016.
“We are delighted to welcome Mr Rakesh Jain as the chief executive officer of the company,” said Jubilant chairman Shyam Bhartia.
“I am confident that this appointment not only further strengthens the leadership in the company but will also provide impetus as we embark upon the next stage of development and growth.”
