Subsea installation contractor Bibby Offshore said yesterday it had appointed Nicky Etherson as its new commercial director to help deliver ambitious growth plans.
Ms Etherson joins the Westhill-based firm with nearly 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, including her recent spell as head of contracts for Total Exploration and Production UK.
Before Total, she worked for energy service firms Acergy, Amec and Technip.
Bibby chief operating officer Fraser Moonie said: “The company is expanding at such a significant rate that we need talented, positive and motivated people to help manage this, and take us even further. Nicky’s wealth of experience and her impressive knowledge of the industry made her the ideal candidate for the role.”
Ms Etherson said: “Bibby Offshore is going from strength to strength, and the impressive plans and activity the company is currently undertaking make this an exciting and ideal time to join the business.”
Bibby said it was on target to achieve an annual turnover of £220million by the end of 2013, and it aimed to grow this to £650million by 2017.
Employing 1,300 people globally, the firm has offices in Aberdeen, Trinidad and Singapore.
In May, the company relocated to a new, purpose built office facility at Prospect Park, Westhill.
